Oct 7 - Finishing the 2D assets  Finished most of the 2D assets that I need for the info graphic today. Admittedly they took a lot longer than I thought they would, but I did set aside this weekend to do all this and I have knocked another 20 Hours off the required 100 hours. So all in all it was a successful if also tiring weekend. It has been a bit of a slog, with 2 days of 10+ hours each, I'm a bit sick of looking at the project. Will probably set aside 4 or 5 hours tomorrow or Tuesday to export all the assets and put them into Toon Boom Harmony. After that I'll take a break from the project, I have plenty of other things to do so it not like I'll be idle.  I need to talk to James about the VO as I still don't have it, animating with be very hard without them.

Oct 6 - Decisions and working my ass off I have decided that going for the 2D route would probably be easier and result in a better animation. There are simply too many problems with the 3D route. It takes longer, its harder to control and hasn't produced a very nice result. I'll still need to talk to James about this as it is a client based job. I have been making the 2D assets in Photoshop to speed up the process and this seems to be working well. The ease of creating them makes everything a bit faster. Might need to go back later and upgrade everything, but that should be fairly simple too. Try to get everything done in the week or so. Got to get 50 hours down in a matter of weeks, so it going to be very full on, especially with the personal project coming up. I have had to watch several tutorials on how to use the rigging system in Toon boom harmony. Oct 5 - 2D items for tests

Oct 5 - 2D items for tests Have been working on a few quick items for a 2D animation test. Making the pictures in Photoshop and will import them into Toon boom harmony. This is easier as I am more familiar with Photoshop and can manipulate objects easier. Sticking with simple objects for now just to make things simpler. Can change the models at any time if required. Will need to start knocking out lots of hours if I'm to hit the 100 hour mark. 

Oct 3 - Office modeling

Oct 3 - Office modeling Put together a quick office model for the tests. It is looking okay, but I'm not sure about the Toon Shading. Of course it isn't my decision in the end but I'll try get this looking a bit more decent. Main problem is that the shader will suddenly pop in the colour changes, making any camera movement a hindrance. Will try to find a way around this. Some examples of the work are shown below...

12 September - Finished Storyboard

12 September - Finished Storyboard Finally finished the storyboarding part of the infographic. All shots are done and have been made in such a way that the animatic should be fairly easy. All the individual objects in the shots are on separate layers so I can manipulate them easier, faster and without having to remake any of them. For example, a lot of scenes have the character or figure with a thought bubble above his head. To make the animatic animation for the thought bubble easier, each separate cloud is on a different layer. I need to start chasing down James as I need that VO. Timing out the animatic is pointless till I know the speed of the narration. I don't want to harass him, but there is only so much I work I can do for James till I get the voice over. 

Internship -SIT PRO - Zero Fees info graphic

Internship - SIT PRO - Zero Fees info graphic - September 6  Going over the draft key frames, Adding info into appropriate slides and cleaning up panels while adding in between key frames to show movement. Mostly brain dead work, but it is needed so I have a clean set of storyboards/ guides to show James. Have the VO would help time this all out but I will need to get that off James.

5 Sep - Starting the storyboard

5 Sep - Starting the storyboard I have begun working on the storyboards for the info graphic. Hopeful I'll get the VO from James soon, or at least before I start work on the animatic. At this point I'm just trying to get the basics down and get the flow of the info graphic.
